About | Torben Gammelgaard

In 1998, Torben Gammelgaard (born 1972) was accepted for both The Artists’ Spring Exhibition at Charlottenborg and The Artists’ Autumn Exhibition at Den Frie. That is now more than 25 years ago – and in the time since, he has held a long series of exhibitions both in Denmark and abroad, including at internationally recognized galleries such as Galerie Lizette Alibert at Place des Vosges in Paris and Gallery Mark Peet Visser in the Netherlands.

Torben Gammelgaard’s naïve and humorous world of motifs – typically featuring animals – has by now become familiar to many. The slow process of creation, with layer upon layer of paint, gives his works their characteristic texture and depth.
